Race for Hope

In addition to helping military families, PS Charities supports individuals fighting cancer. 100% of the money we raise goes directly to the cause. But at times we like to get involved with the big guys raising money for research – the quest to eradicate and prohibit cancer from ever occurring.

For the past three years, PSC has been a proud supporter of the Race for Hope – DC. Money from the race benefits the community working to stop brain cancer in its tracks. Our team leaders have loved someone who lost the fight against brain cancer so this race is important to them. This year, you can help in supporting the Race for Hope by making a donation to our volunteer’s teams.

Team Steve

Team Steve is led by one of our most active volunteers, Jackie Albright. Jackie’s father Steve Albright, was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme, a fatal form of brain cancer, in February of 2007. He passed away only six months later, in August 2007. From the moment he was diagnosed, Jackie and her family have been dedicated to the fight against brain tumors and brain cancer.

Team Ellen

Long-time volunteer Beth Moss is leading the charge for Team Ellen! Ellen Waldron was diagnosed with a brain tumor in July of 2000, when she was 12 years old. For two years, Ellen fought this horrific disease, undergoing radiation, chemotherapy and many hospitalizations. Ellen passed away at the age of 14 and her family honors her memory by participating in the Race for Hope.
